April 18 Strawberry Cake Workshop
Let’s celebrate the first good Strawberries!
Join chef and baker Rose Wilde for a slow Sunday morning in the garden celebrating the first strawberries of spring alongside rye, buttermilk, fragrant herbs, and flowers.
Each participant will receive a fully stacked and crumb-coated 6-inch rye chiffon cake filled with slow roasted strawberries, layered with whipped buttermilk, and finished with rose geranium swiss buttercream and an abundant table of seasonal garnishes. We’ll focus on composition and using fresh and preserved fruit, herbs, flowers, and contrasting textures to create a cake that feels wild, generous, and alive. We’ll also play with color using the syrup form the roasted strawberries and powdered freeze dried berries.
